Unogwaja Challenge Charity Virtual AdventureRun

The Unogwaja Challenge was due to take place from 2 – 13 June 2020 where a team of cyclists would be cycling from Cape Town to Pietermaritzburg (+-1700kms)… followed by the Comrades Marathon on the 14th of June. While Comrades has been cancelled, the team is hard at work getting new dates and going about preparing for 2021. In the meantime though, there are still people relying on us and the funds that we need to raise!  (All funds go towards education and social development projects in South Africa, as well as assisting those who have been affected by Covid-19).  Join us on Saturday, 13 June for the Unogwaja Challenge Charity Virtual AdventureRun! This is not just for those strong, long distance runners – this is for your family and friends who wish they could also do something as great as Comrades but may not be able to. You choose your pace and distance. Enter now and challenge your friends and family to do the same! Who knows… we may even see some novices on the Comrades Marathon start line in 2021! Enter at: www.adventurerun.co.za

No matter where you are in South Africa or the World – everyone is invited to participate! The joys of our new virtual world!

As an event where participants will have the opportunity to take in the beauty of the Sunshine Coast, The Royal St Andrews Hotel Amanzi Challenge will be opened by the annual 8km Trail Run on Friday 10 April 2020 at 07:30am.

The trail run, now in its third year and organised by the Kowie Striders, lives up to the club’s ethos of being a space for the young and the young at heart. Encouraging avid runners, and walkers, the trail is set  along a well-chosen route, starting at the Royal St Andrews Hotel.

Runners and walkers will have marshals direct them along a short stretch on the Kowie River towpath, along Beach Road and up the notorious old concrete staircase leading to Grand Street before entering the final stretch on a trail through dune bush behind Medolino Caravan Park.
