Wild Coast Vet Chintsa Trail

The Chintsa Trail Run was started in 2013 as a fundraiser for the Chintsa Running Club. International adventure athletes have rated the route as one of the most gruelling and pristine trails in South Africa.

This year the event is sponsored by Wild Coast Vet and it will start and finish at Emerald Vale Brewery. The epic route remains with an additional value add to make the long route an insane 44km GOLD GREYHOUND. A challenging 21 km AMBER ALSATIAN  is available for the less daring and a 4km PALE POODLE for the family is also on offer. One of the main attractions of this unique run is the trail diversity which take runners through usually inaccessible farms, beaches and coastal forest (special permission is obtained from all private landowners). A must for all nature lovers, biophiles and trail addicts.

Emerald Vale Brewery provides a festive atmosphere for runners and supporters. The restaurant and bar will be running food and drink specials.

Donations and a portion of proceeds go to Chintsa Running Club. Running kit and shoe donations will be much appreciated.

The Virtual Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer

Exciting news is that the Eastern Cape’s biggest charity event, the Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer presented by the Eastern Cape Department of Health, will still be hosted in 2020 – as a virtual event.

Participants are encouraged to dress in pink and take a 5km walk around their neighbourhoods on Saturday, 31 October 2020, in support of everyone who has been affected by cancer.

“For the first time, this legacy event reaches beyond the city. Together with those affected by cancer we will be able to celebrate every step on the road to recovery and healing, anywhere in Algoa Country,” says Algoa FM marketing manager Lesley Geyer.

This year the beneficiary is the Igazi Foundation, which will use the funds to purchase equipment needed to be able to continue treating blood cancer cases in the Eastern Cape.

For more information please visit the Algoa FM website, www.algoafm.co.za.

Ends.
